In addition to creating surgery schedules, ophthalmic surgery coordinators are also required to change and optimize schedules based on staff requests or requirements, which requires strong verbal and written communication skills. Ophthalmic surgical coordinators are responsible for establishing and coordinating schedules and other activities within a clinic, as well as coordinating between clinic(s), surgeon(s), and surgery center(s) to inform each of changes and requirements as they occur.
