Assist with pre operative and post operative care for pediatric and adult plastic surgery patients• Conduct initial patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical exams related to reconstructive and cosmetic procedures• Provide ongoing care for patients with cleft lip and palate, including feeding support coordination and long term follow up• Support care for craniofacial conditions such as craniosynostosis, plagiocephaly, skull and ear deformities• Participate in multidisciplinary craniofacial and cleft teams, coordinating care with SLPs, orthodontists, neurosurgery, ENT, and pediatrics• Manage routine post surgical follow ups, wound care, suture removal, and complication monitoring• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, surgical expectations, and recovery timelines• Surgical & Procedural Support• First or second assist in reconstructive, craniofacial, and cosmetic procedures, including: • Cleft lip and palate repair• Craniosynostosis and endoscopic craniosynostosis repair• Rhinoplasty, facelift, genioplasty, and other facial procedures• Perform in office procedures as appropriate, including drains removal, minor revisions, and injections (if within scope)• Cosmetic & Aesthetic Responsibilities• Participate in cosmetic consultations, discussing treatment options and realistic outcomes• Assist with aesthetic services such as injectables, scar management, and postoperative cosmetic care• Support patient education regarding non surgical cosmetic treatments• Administrative & Care Coordination• Document visits, procedures, and care plans accurately in the EMR• Coordinate surgery scheduling, pre op clearance, and imaging• Communicate with referring providers and allied health professionals• Ensure continuity of care across inpatient, outpatient, and surgical settings• Patient Advocacy & Education• Provide compassionate, family centered support for pediatric and congenital cases• Educate families on long term management of craniofacial and reconstructive conditions• Address psychosocial concerns related to facial differences and cosmetic outcomes. Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics may be required based on your selected privileges.
