Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is a clinically competent individual who possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. This policy relates to recruitment, employment, placement, layoffs and recall, promotion/demotion, discipline, transfer, termination, rates of pay and/or all other forms of compensation, training and development, use of facilities, and participation in hospital sponsored activities.
