Work requires a professional level of knowledge of anatomy and physiology, concepts of disease, aseptic technique, modern surgical principles, techniques, and procedures, at a level that generally can be acquired by completion and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program. Functions as a clinical resource person to various department personnel and other patient care givers assigned, including other surgical technologists, nurses, residents, and medical students.
