Overview:
 Perform a variety of field tasks associated with surveying & geospatial data collection. 

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Direction<ul><li>Perform work under moderate supervision. Receive direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution. Work is frequently reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance.</li></ul>At the Operational and Company Level<ul><li>Continuously promote the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.</li></ul>Do the Work<ul><li>Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned survey field crew on quality and survey methodology, including training, and mentoring of junior level employees.</li><li>Coordinate with contractors to provide survey services.</li><li>Identify controls for property lines and make the appropriate decisions regarding how to proceed with the survey.</li><li>Gather all necessary information needed to properly conduct the survey in the most time efficient manner and assign tasks to crew members.</li><li>Discuss work with clients, as necessary.</li><li>Make calculations and maintain records essential to survey.</li><li>Ensure that assigned survey truck is properly maintained.</li><li>Maintain and inventory all assigned equipment.</li><li>Communicate with management to maximize efforts and man-hours.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred. Commensurate relevant experience considered.</li><li>Three or more (3+) years of experience working on a land surveying party.</li><li>Prior Party Chief experience a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of construction stakeout procedures and practices.</li><li>Familiar with field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.</li><li>Ability to perform all aspects of data collected field run topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys and as-built surveys.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of total station, GPS and data collection, with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies.</li><li>Current, valid State Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company.</li></ul>

Physical Demands and Working Environment:
<ul><li>Partly indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.</li><li>Mobility around an office environment.</li><li>Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.</li><li>Partly outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.</li><li>Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li><li>Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/or drones, necessitating walking the assigned study area to complete data collection over the course of several hours.</li><li>Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.</li><li>Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.</li><li>Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.</li><li>Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.</li></ul>#LI-MM1

This opportunity includes responsibilities to support engineering projects. Responsibilities <ul><li>Perform a variety of field survey procedures including linear topographic survey, boundary surveys, land record research and plan preparation, and construction layout</li><li>Managing projects</li><li>Taking an active role in client relations, developing proposals, researching land records, and preparing plans. </li><li>The position provides opportunities for regular participation in business development, staff growth and mentoring, and strategic planning. </li></ul> Requirements <ul><li>10 to 15 years of relevant experience (though the firm is willing to mentor and train the right individual) </li><li>Active LS license with a desire to obtain an LS License in NH, ME, VT, and/or MA. </li><li>Ability to operate survey equipment; GPS, Total Station and Robotics is required.
