Offer expert support in methodological, technological, and ethical aspects (e.g., ensuring neutrality, precision, and repeatability of measures; conducting cost-benefit analyses of survey tools; and maintaining respondent anonymity).
p>The Managing Director oversees two high-functioning survey methods teams -- domestic and international - who are responsible for the American Trends Panel, the National Public Opinion Reference Survey, and an extensive range of global attitudes surveys, among other projects. This person serves as a media spokesperson and key public voice on survey methods and polling, helping external audiences understand how public opinion research works and its strengths and limitations.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. End-to-End Workflow Redesign: Champion the holistic redesign of work processes and structures by deploying intelligent automation across repetitive processes while focusing on achieving system-level efficiency.
Experience for this position includes: conducting and publishing independent, original research using survey, census, and/or administrative records data; leading or guiding others in conducting complex and innovative empirical research using survey, census, and/or administrative records data; monitoring projects and developing project plans and schedules; setting priorities to lead multiple concurrent complex activities; making key decisions and providing technical advice, instruction, and training with minimal guidance; and communicating technical information clearly to a broad variety of stakeholders. Minimum Education Requirement: Degree: that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc.
