Or equivalent experience.</li><li>4–6+ years of EHS consulting experience across sectors like manufacturing, oil & gas, power, mining, or chemicals.</li><li>Proven expertise in EPCRA Tier II/TRI threshold and release calculations, including QA/QC review.</li><li>Strong regulatory knowledge of EPA and state environmental requirements.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills for managing large datasets and complex calculations.</li><li>Exceptional communication, analytical, and project management skills.</li></ul><p><b>Preferred</b></p><ul><li>Experience with air release calculations (emission factors, controls).</li><li>Familiarity with PowerBI, Access, and advanced data visualization tools.</li><li>Business development experience and ability to grow client relationships.</li></ul><h3></h3><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Manage air permitting and compliance assurance programs for diverse industrial clients.</li><li>Develop permitting strategies and maintain strong relationships with clients and regulators.</li><li>Oversee large-scale EPCRA and TRI reporting programs, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.</li><li>Provide QA/QC review of emissions and compliance calculations across multiple sectors.</li><li>Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.</li><li>Support business development through proposal preparation and client engagement.</li><li>Deliver on scope, budget, and schedule expectations while maintaining ERM’s quality standards.</li></ul><p><b>Join ERM and be part of a global team committed to sustainability and innovation.</b><br/>Ready to take the next step? Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. Your leadership will ensure technical excellence across ecological evaluations, permitting, and restoration initiatives. You’ll help clients navigate regulatory landscapes, maintain strong agency relationships, and deliver solutions that meet scope, budget, and quality expectations—all while advancing ERM’s reputation as a trusted global partner.</p><p><b>What You’ll Bring</b></p><p><b>Required:</b></p><ul><li><p>BS or MS in biology, wetland science, plant ecology, or a related field—or equivalent experience.</p></li><li><p>6+ years of consulting experience (8+ preferred) in ecological evaluations, QA/QC, technical writing, and multi-media permitting.</p></li><li><p>Deep knowledge of biological and wetland ecology impact assessment and management issues across industry sectors.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations; NJDEP experience strongly preferred.</p></li><li><p>Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and maintain integrity and professionalism.</p></li></ul><p><b>Preferred:</b></p><ul><li><p>Experience with NJDEP’s Bureau of Environmental Radiation (BER).</p></li><li><p>Established reputation with regulators and recognized technical expertise in ecological assessment approvals.</p></li><li><p>Positive, collaborative mindset with a drive for ERM’s global success.</p></li></ul><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li><p>Coordinate environmental investigations of surface water, sediments, and wetlands, ensuring compliance with NJDEP regulations.</p></li><li><p>Lead project teams in preparing technical documents, including Ecological Evaluations and Remedial Investigation Reports.</p></li><li><p>Oversee riparian and wetland restoration projects under NJDEP and Natural Resource Trustees.</p></li><li><p>Support ecological risk assessments through data interpretation and collaboration with risk assessors.</p></li><li><p>Manage land use and wetlands permitting efforts under NJDEP programs.</p></li><li><p>Maintain strong client and agency relationships while delivering projects on time and within budget.</p></li><li><p>Additional duties may include natural resource surveys, biological monitoring, field team management, and specialized site assessments.</p></li></ul><h2></h2><p>For the <i>Principal Technical Consultant, Ecologist </i>position, the anticipated annual base pay is <i>$122,612 – $140,354 (USD)</i>.
