Particular emphasis will be given to candidates with cutting-edge research expertise advancing the next-generation of infrastructure materials manufacturing, especially, cement manufacturing and materials technologies, including process- and heat-related energy-and-emission reduction approaches to produce novel cements and cementing materials; electrification and other non-fossil energy delivery approaches for high-temperature manufacturing processes, supported by multi-scale, multi-physics modeling to accelerate the development, optimization, and scale-up of such processes; and AI- and Industry 4.0-enabled manufacturing including digital twins and data-driven optimization, with the goals of improving energy and resource efficiency, product quality, productivity, and operational resilience. Faculty members in the Fulton Schools are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, adopt effective pedagogical practices in the development and delivery of undergraduate and graduate courses, advise both undergraduate and graduate student research and projects, and undertake service activities.
