Job Title: Department: Country: State/Province: City: Full/Part Time: Job Summary: Job Description: Key Responsibilities: • Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor and trailer equipment • Oversee recall campaigns and sign off on completion • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ABS system and specialized equipment including refrigerated units, lift gates, and frame alignment • May onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks • Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard • Professionally operate assigned service truck and according to company requirements; properly attend to service truck parts inventory • Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures • Properly document damage to company equipment to estimate the cost of repairs • Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment • Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water-tight • Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections sign-off Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs with 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent experience • AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences • Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines • Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program • Willingness to work outdoors in the elements • Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed • At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes Preferred Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent experience • Welding certification • Forklift certification and experience • EPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration License • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) • Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively • Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds) • Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE) This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.
