The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment, serves as a technical resource for departmental staff, mentors junior Permit Technicians, and works collaboratively with Plans Review, Inspection Services, Planning and Zoning, Engineering, Utilities, contractors, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and exceptional customer service. Unlike the Permit Technician II, whose primary responsibility is the administration of complex permit applications and large-scale development projects, the Permit Technician III is responsible for safeguarding the integrity of the permitting process through quality assurance, final permit verification, certificate issuance, permit close-out, and administration of specialized permitting programs.
