Anticipate impact of equipment failure and identify planned and specific steps to minimize down time, and devise workarounds as appropriate; Communicate clearly and appropriately to staff before, during and after planned or unplanned equipment failures or maintenance; Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem and complete appropriate paperwork; Inspects building systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes; Coordinate building systems maintenance and project work by vendors and contractors; Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, FLIR and computers to ensure compatibility and safety of system; Develop and implement maintenance and inspection plans to ensure reliability, sustainability and security of building systems infrastructure; Job Specifications: High School Graduate or completion of GED program and 2-year Technical College certificate (or equivalent) in an applicable trade is required. Perform a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled building trades work; Maintain and repair buildings and offices; Provide remodeling services requiring basic carpentry skills; Construct and repair office furniture, cabinets, shelving, partitions and fixtures; Install/attach cabinets and shelves to walls; Replaces doors and locks; Repair, replace, and install plumbing fixtures and appliances; Install and repair lavatory facilities and drinking fountains; Prepare, patch, and paint buildings and equipment; Move furniture as requested by building occupants; Conduct life/safety inspections on various equipment (e.g.
