The experienced team in the Carter Unit provides complex medical/surgical care, care for medically fragile children and restorative care, telemetry, cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, chest tubes, traction, Bi-pap ventilation, apnea monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia phototherapy, and IV therapy, as well as postoperative open-heart surgery. The hospital is home to the Kapiolani Women's Center and the Women's Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapiolani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
