Unit Details: - The unit cares for oncology patients, including patients receiving chemotherapy, and includes surgical cases such as gallbladder, appendectomy, colectomy, ostomy, and TURP; general medical cases such as cellulitis, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, and outpatient antibiotic/fluid infusions; observation for chest pain, dizziness, syncope, and TIA versus stroke; orthopedic cases including total hips, total knees, and shoulders; neuro cases including spine surgeries, strokes, and altered mental status; and cardiac cases including post-procedure cath, TEE, cardioversion, heart failure, chest pain, and cardiac arrhythmias. Required Skills/Experience: - Required skills include chest tubes, stable tracheostomy management, IV skills, port/central lines, Foley insertion/care, feeding tubes, and cardiac rhythm interpretation; knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP/Airvo is required, with RT managing the equipment.
