Job description Job Title: Tool & Die Maker - 1st Shift Reports To: VPProduction Department: Tool Room/Production Pay Range: Dependent on experience General Function: Build, repair and maintain dies, diagnose issues, correct and improve tooling and fixtures to support production. Job Duties:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Build and repair precision tooling, jigs and fixtures using machine shop tools and measuring instruments.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Work from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies and jigs.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Set up and operate all tool room equipment.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Work hands on with lathes, mills, surface grinders and all tool room equipment.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Heat treat different metals and test hardness.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Assist production with problem solving on tooling issues.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Safety conscious to include proper use of P.P.E</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">ProtoTRAK mill experience a plus.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul>Working Conditions: Climate controlled factory environment; working in and out of presses with tooling.Exposure to industrial environments, including oils, solvents, and machinery (PPE provided). Physical Component(s): Standing and walking up to 100% of work time. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs to include pushing, pulling, bending, reaching and some stooping. Education/Experience: minimum 5 years proven experience working as a Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing environment. Journeyman’s Tool and Die Maker’s card or certification a plus. Other Requirements: Excellent attendance. Team player with solid communication skills. Must have own tools. Reads and understands blueprints and complicated schematics as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts. Modifies machine parameters to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced within specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:<ul style="margin-top:0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Uses manual machining equipment to build fixtures.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Repairs fixtures, molds, and tools when needed; disassembles molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures, then reassembles when repaired.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Reads and understands blueprints and complicated schematics as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Demonstrated mechanical ability.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Able to identify and explain basic tools and their usage</li><li class="MsoNormal">Drilling ,tapping ,deburring with proper equipment and methods</li><li class="MsoNormal">Possess welding and fabrication skills with abilities to improve quality .</li><li class="MsoNormal">Have a desire to gain knowledge in the shop as well as on their own.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Be able to read and draw a basic print and understand the goals of what we do in a tool shop.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Build on prior trades experience and refine the skills necessary to be a tool maker .</li><li class="MsoNormal">Keep shop and tools clean and organized.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Able to plan next step in a process and prepare.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Able to read measuring tools: tape measure ,scale, micrometer ,calipers, height gage.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Modifies machine parameters to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced within specifications.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Performs other related duties as assigned.</li></ul> Required Skills <ul style="margin-top:0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Thorough understanding of metallic properties.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ability to work independently, and with engineers and machinists</li></ul>Other Requirements:<ul style="margin-top:0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Show up every day on time and ready to work and learn .</li></ul> Required Experience
