This individual must be able to operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, millers, universal grinders, surface grinders and tooling such as collets, chucks, compression and cold head dies, punches, assembly fixtures, jaws, drill jigs, etc. Working from engineered drawings, specs and/or instructions from the leadperson or supervisor, the tool and die maker will have complete responsibility for determining the best methods and machines required in the manufacture or repair of tools to close tolerances.
