Labcorp is seeking a Certifying Scientist to join our team in RTP, NC.Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday
10:00PM - 6:30AMJob Responsibilities:<ul><li>Review all test results for applicable screening and confirmatory clinical toxicology testing methodologies, relevant Quality Control data and associated documentation</li><li>Certify and release results while ensuring that all results meet the appropriate quality standards</li><li>Understand and apply quality practices and procedures to the review, interpretation and reporting of results</li><li>Monitor chain-of-custody documentation when applicable</li><li>Take proper remedial action in response to test systems being out of control limits, detect aberrant results of quality control and take appropriate action</li><li>Provide consultation and assistance to clients when technical, interpretive, and/or regulatory questions arise</li><li>Support the training of fellow certifying scientists and other employees in the interpretation and reporting of results and applicable departmental processes</li><li>Advise/consult with laboratory technical staff regarding routine testing issues and practices</li><li>Assist in preparation of litigation packages and affidavits; provide testimony under subpoena when necessary</li><li>Interact with inspectors and auditors when appropriate and assist in preparation for inspections and audits</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology</li><li>2 years or more of pertinent laboratory experience is required</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Master's degree or Ph.D. in a Chemical or Biological Science</li><li>3 months or more of Certifying Scientist or Toxicology experience</li><li>6 months or more chromatography and/or mass spectrometry experience</li></ul>Additional Job Standards:<ul><li>In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements</li><li>Qualify as an NLCP Certifying Scientist in an appropriate time frame</li><li>Excellent research and problem resolution skills</li><li>Comfortability working in high volume, fast paced environment</li><li>Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus</li><li>Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at a given time</li><li>High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills</li><li>Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs</li></ul>At Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives. Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner
Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department
Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage
Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control
Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations
Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
Perform administrative duties as neededRequirementsBachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
Minimum 4 years of experience as a Technologist with a Bachelor's degree; 2 years with a Master's degree; 1 year with a PhD. The experience must be in a CLIA licensed laboratory testing human samples.
Toxicology experience is required
Previous supervisor/leadership experience is highly preferred

CSS is seeking a Toxicologist to join our team!Responsibilities include:<ul><li>Review and evaluation of published and unpublished data on pesticides and other chemicals of environmental concern for compliance with Federal regulations, including data requirements for pesticides under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act.</li><li>Review of toxicology studies on pesticides and other chemicals of environmental concern.</li><li>Preparation of reports summarizing results from various EPA Test Guideline and non-Guideline studies, and peer-reviewed journal articles, on conventional, biochemical, or microbial pesticides, and assessment of study adequacy and the impact of the study findings on pesticide registrations.</li><li>Review of toxicological data and assessment of lowest-adverse effect levels (LOAELs) and no-adverse effect levels (NOAELs).</li><li>Statistical analysis of toxicology data.</li><li>Data audits and quality assurance reviews of reports prepared by other scientists.</li><li>Use of toxicology and exposure data in the development of risk assessments.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>M.S. or Ph.D. in toxicology, pharmacology, chemistry or related life science, with 3‑5 years of relevant experience.</li><li>A thorough understanding of experimental design and analysis, including experience in the statistical evaluation of experimental data;</li><li>Understanding of toxicology principles;</li><li>Good organizational skills;</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills;</li><li>Experience in the preparation and editing of technical reports in clear, standard English; and</li><li>Proficiency in the use of MS-Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).</li></ul> At CSS, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and merit-based workplace.
