Unit Position Summary The Facilities Maintenance Technician will provide support to the College of Human Medicine buildings in Grand Rapids (Secchia Center, Grand Rapids Research Center, Doug Meijer Medical Innovation Building), assisting the Building Services Engineer and Operations Team in performing facilities tasks including, but not limited to; drywall repair, painting, plumbing, carpentry, hardware installations, light bulb replacement, locksmithing, equipment repair, eyewash and safety shower testing, safety equipment testing, furniture assembly and moving, interior and exterior cleaning, minor mechanical and electrical repair, and general maintenance duties as assigned. Provides support in one or more skilled trades areas such as a bindery machine operator, carpenter, electrician, glazier, instrument maker, locksmith, mason, mechanic, machinist, painter, pipefitter, plasterer, plumber, printing press operator, roofer, trades helper, upholsterer, welder, etc.
