Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in a related field; minimum 5 years of direct Infection Prevention/Infection Control experience in a true acute-care hospital environment; experience with infection surveillance, outbreak investigations, isolation precautions, and healthcare-associated infection prevention; knowledge of OSHA, Joint Commission, CDC, CARF, and applicable local, state, and federal infection prevention regulations and guidelines; experience working independently and providing Infection Prevention consultation to clinical, physician, operational, and executive leadership; active Certification in Infection Control (CIC); experience with infection surveillance, reporting, healthcare-associated infection monitoring, regulatory reporting requirements, and Infection Prevention databases; ability to function independently at a CIC level while collaborating with Infectious Disease and system-wide Infection Prevention resources; strong communication, collaboration, and consultation skills; ability to work onsite across Rockville and White Oak, with occasional travel between facilities for urgent or emergent situations.
