The RN is responsible for assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient progress, and coordinating care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Depending on the employer, the RN may work in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, outpatient clinic, long-term care facility, or home health setting.
