Common diagnosis / Types of patients: (PACU patients will go directly to ICU) Cardiac, PCI, Open Heart, Sepsis, ETOH, Stroke, CABG, stents, balloon pumps, cath lab ( some- most of them will recover on the DOU unit), craniotomies, travlers are not assigned fresh open heart or crani's - they do not have to have experience in that area, general medical surgical ICU nurses are needed, 3 years minimum experience, unless coming from a big institution with 2+ years experience, prior travel experience preferred. - Holidays: Yes- work them in with perm staff rotation - that is when they are needed most so travelers should expect to work holidays.
