On an assigned shift, in all departments, performs the following: Operation of a variety of specialized and heavy duty equipment such as back hoe, hi-lift with bucket and/or wingplow, front end loader, dump truck with a plow or wingplow, bulldozer, hydraulic broom (street sweeper), tractor trailer, tractor with mower, pavement rollers and related pieces of equipment;, Performs minor maintenance work which includes daily checking of zerk fittings and grease when necessary, draining of air valves, checking fuel and oil level, steam cleaning throughout, as required; Performs any task related to maintenance or upkeep of equipment; Performs manual work in connection with the operation of specialized or heavy-duty equipment; Reports problems with equipment and documents same; Wears safety equipment as required; Performs related duties as required. Applicants must consent to screening requirements of the FMCSA Clearinghouse program (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) in accordance with Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 382 as part of the application process for positions requiring a NYS Commercial Drivers License.
