This includes the following activities: reviewing policy files, claim files, complaint files, underwriting files, rate structures and rating manuals, underwriting manuals, practices and guidelines, policy terminations, marketing and sales, and producer licensing; determining proper selection of sample files and accuracy of data and information; conducting interviews with insurance company staff to elicit information; and identifying violations of statute, regulation, and policy conditions. This includes the following activities: documenting examination findings; preparing summaries and final reports, which include a comprehensive narrative of the examination and recommended corrective action; and providing clarification and interpretation of insurance rules, statutes, and regulations.
