The employee must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all stakeholders within the department’s scope of accountability; Must be able to walk long distances, at times up to 8 hours per day, in all weather conditions, sometimes in alleys and back lots, while carrying equipment required for the performance of the job; Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time, repeat the same movements, use hands to control, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and see details of objects that are more than a few feet away; Must be able to use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects; The employee must frequently visit and inspect facilities that are accessible only by uneven paths of travel, ladders, stairways, and confined spaces, which may expose the employee to potential hazards; Must possess the ability to record, convey and present information, explain procedures and follow written and verbal instructions; Must possess dexterity requirements ranging from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands; feet/legs; and torso necessary to carry out duties of job; Ability to frequently and routinely bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, lift and push/pull to perform essential job functions; Must be able to make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls; see differences between colors, shades, and brightness; and hear sounds and recognize the difference between them; Must be able to perform light to medium work, with occasional moving (lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling) of objects with a maximum weight of approximately fifty (50) pounds; Must be able to operate motor vehicles; Must be able to move/lift/carry various equipment to and from work areas; TRAVEL REQUIRED. The employee primarily works outside in a non-barrier setting, and may be subject to common and sometimes uncommon external exposures, including but not limited to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, heat, cold, rain, snow, and other severe and adverse weather-related conditions.
