E. Operates and maintains specialized vehicles and heavy equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; cleans and maintains tools and equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems requiring additional repair; operates a variety of construction tools and equipment, including backhoe, dump truck, roller, sweeper, vac truck, slope mower, boom truck, chipper skid steer, paint striper, pressure washer, crack sealer, grinder and fork lift. E. Utilizes and enforces proper safety precautions in all work performed; recognizes and reports safety hazards, traffic problems, equipment problems and emergency situations; performs traffic control activities as needed; follows safety regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing barricades and cones.
