Zurich North America is currently hiring for an Underwriting Application Architect to lead projects within Enterprise Underwriting Solutions. This person will report to a Technical Director and will work in a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities: <ul><li>Design, strategy, modernization, platform stability, and policy administration of an enterprise underwriting application.</li><li>Day to day operational stability for .NET platform for administration of underwriting applications.</li><li>Moving/migrating and modernizing applications to Azure hosted .NET application from Mainframe.</li><li>Design, development in an scrum/agile background</li><li>The Application Architect is the central point of coordination between offshore and onshore development and QA in a matrix environment.</li><li>There is significant coordination with ZNA business and technology teams.</li><li>Coordination of multiple projects and initiatives across North America.</li></ul> Basic Qualifications: <ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li>Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the IT architecture area OR</li><li>Zurich Cybersecurity Technician Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the IT Architecture area OR</li><li>High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the IT Architecture area  </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Advanced experience as an Architect, leading projects in a matrix environment.</li><li>Project management experience in an agile/scrum environment.</li><li>A deep understanding of software development, system architecture, networking, and cloud technologies. </li><li>Extensive experience building solutions on a .Net and Azure platform.</li><li>Application integration experience via services and APIs.</li><li>Advanced experience coordinating multiple projects and multiple points of contact across different geographies.</li><li>Experience managing resources across different geographies.</li><li>Advanced experience with SDLC concepts.</li><li>Experience transitioning legacy applications to cloud hosting is a plus.</li><li>Insurance Industry Experience</li><li>The ability to analyze complex problems and propose practical solutions. </li><li>Knowledge of data security principles and best practices.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, developers, and management. </li></ul><div></div> At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
