Summary: The Youth Peer Support Partner role facilitates peer support and provides one-on-one support to youth through support groups, activities, education, and outreach. This role supports youth in achieving their self-directed life, wellness, and recovery goals.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):<ul><li>Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.</li><li>License/Certifications: Completion of, or ability to complete, the State of Maine Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) Certification is required. Provisional CIPSS Certification must be obtained within 9 months of start date. Ability to maintain certification is also required. Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation are required.</li><li>Experience: Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support is preferred.</li><li>Additional Skills/Requirements: The Youth Peer Support Statewide Network members must be between 18-26 years of age. A personal history of significant mental health/substance use challenges and a willingness to be open about these in peer support relationships are required.
