We are centered on caring for the whole person – with expert medical care, pain management as well as emotional and spiritual support along with resources, information, and emotional support for families and caregivers.</p><h3><strong>About the role:</strong></h3><p>The volunteer provides patient care and support services according to his/her experience and training and in compliance with organization policies. </p><h3><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong> </h3><ol><li>Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary group amid various settings: home care; respite; inpatient, bereavement, and/or administrative; office duties.</li><li>Participates in general orientation.</li><li>Serves the patient and family/caregiver under the guidance of the Volunteer Coordinator and Case Manager or as a part of the administrative team.</li><li>Serves as substitute family/caregiver in the home performing activities that the volunteer has been prepared for and has agreed to perform.  The volunteer may do homemaker chores, run errands, and provide respite care as well.</li><li>Documents as educated and instructed maintaining confidentiality.</li><li>Meets all health requirements set by Luminary Hospice.</li><li>Provides availability regularly and/or keeping with the patient and family/caregiver needs.</li><li>Participates in volunteer support groups and/or educational in-services.</li><li>Maintains open communication and reports regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator.</li><li>Assignment of other duties (as needed) directed by the Volunteer Coordinator.</li><li>Participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.</li><li>Participates in interdisciplinary group meetings, as appropriate.  </li></ol><h3><strong>Job Qualifications:</strong> </h3><ol><li>Mature individual, supportive of the hospice concept, comfortable with his/her spirituality, and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity.</li><li>Surviving family members: must meet ayear's waiting period after the patient's death to participate in direct patient care or public relations activities.</li><li>Successful completion of the hospice's volunteer training and orientation program.</li><li>Previous volunteer experience may be helpful.</li><li>Ability to work within an interdisciplinary group.</li><li>If making home visits, must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order. </li></ol><h3><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></h3><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. <div><p><strong>Sanitation Manager – 3rd Shift</strong></p><p/><p>Reporting to the Operations Manager will lead third‑shift sanitation operations on the 3<sup>rd</sup> shift which is 11:00pm – 7:00am Monday thru Friday and could involve at times weekend work and role is at their Indianapolis, Indiana manufacturing facility. Will play a critical role in maintaining food safety, regulatory compliance, and a safe work environment by providing hands‑on leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous improvement of sanitation programs that protect their products and their people. Note exceptional benefits described below!</p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong>A Taste of Responsibilities</strong></p><ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>Lead, coach, and develop the third‑shift sanitation and production supervisory team to support a safe, clean, and compliant manufacturing environment (will be over 2 sanitation supervisors and 1 production supervisor and the Sanitation Manager will be the highest level person on the third shift)</li><li>Implement and manage sanitation programs that meet federal, state, and company food safety and regulatory requirements</li><li>Manage activities associated with the plant Master Sanitation Schedule</li><li>Conduct scheduled inspections of equipment, production areas, and facility spaces to identify and resolve sanitation gaps</li><li>Partner with production, maintenance, and quality teams to address sanitation challenges and improve processes</li><li>Recommend and support improvements to equipment, facility layout, lighting, and ventilation to enhance sanitation effectiveness</li><li>Manage vendor relationships related to sanitation chemicals, pest control services, and uniform programs, ensuring contract compliance and service quality</li><li>Monitor sanitation expenses and support development of the annual department budget</li><li>Support development and implementation of standard operating procedures and provide training focused on safety, food safety, and sanitation best practices</li><li>Lead safety coaching and reinforce Good Manufacturing Practices and safe work standards</li><li>Track sanitation performance metrics, analyze trends, and implement action plans to close gaps</li><li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives supporting safety, quality, service, and cost objectives</li></ul><div><strong>Ingredients Required for Success</strong></div><div></div><ul style="margin-top:0in"><li style="margin-left:0in"><ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>High school diploma or GED required</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field preferred</li><li>At least 3 to five or more years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing or food production environment with a sanitation or quality focus (but at least some experience over sanitation area at the management level) with a Bachelor degree; at least 8 years of sanitation management experience if non degreed </li><li style="margin-left:0in">Must come from a food manufacturer, although flexible as to the type of food</li><li style="margin-left:0in">Must have significant experience as a direct in house sanitation employee versus being contracted to the site manufacturing site.</li><li>Supervisory experience supporting employee development, coaching, and performance management</li><li>Working knowledge of sanitation programs, food safety regulations, and manufacturing equipment</li><li>Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation</li><li>Managerial level experience with continuous improvement is needed</li><li>Experience managing sanitation‑related budgets and vendor contracts preferred</li><li style="margin-left:0in">CIP is a plus (there is both dry and wet cleaning at this site)</li><li style="margin-left:0in">SAP and Food lock experience is preferred</li><li style="margin-left:0in">SQFA is a plus</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><p>More information about essential tasks and the facility will be shared during the hiring process. This role may require you to be in their manufacturing facilities.
