Qualifications: Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:Considerable knowledge of building construction and renovation work practices and principles utilized on complex CTDOT or other public building and facilities construction projects; Administrative and financial controls with respect to construction engineering plans, contracts, projects and reports; Relevant government agency policies and procedures; Considerable ability to acknowledge and apply relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations including the CT Building, Fire Safety, and Fire Prevention Codes; Proper understanding and application of agency specific guidelines and procedures such as the CTDOT Form 819 and the Construction Manual. The Resident Engineer(Facilities and Buildings) functions as the construction project lead responsible for the management and oversight of a project team consisting of construction inspectors, office engineers and other project support staff, working collectively to ensure all construction project work is performed in accordance with the contract documents and all the Client’s needs are met.
