As an Animal Care Specialist, you can count on becoming not just part of a growing company, but a family. POSITION OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE:The Animal Care Specialist is responsible for providing support to breeding, farrowing or wean-finish teams. Work with your manager on establishing a schedule and weekend rotations will be included.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Tasks are dependent upon the department, but may include:<ul><li>Provide care for animals, ensuring they have access to food, water and a comfortable environment</li><li>Assist with movement of animals</li><li>Treat and vaccinate animals</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation</li><li>Assist in power washing</li><li>Promote a safe work environment</li><li>Maintain PQA certification status (provided on the job)</li><li>Follow all SFI bio-security policies and procedures </li><li>Exhibit strong teamwork, including working to achieve team goals, embracing new technologies, working on new projects, etc.</li><li>Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation</li></ul>Additional Duties<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Demonstrate Schwartz Farms' values of integrity, respect, excellence and adaptability</li><li style="line-height:normal">Advocate and engage in SFI's animal welfare policy, including promoting animal well-being, remedying circumstances which impede animal care, and properly reporting instances of mistreatment or abuse</li><li style="line-height:normal">Maintain and promote a safe working environment</li><li>Additional duties may be assigned as they arise</li></ul> Job Posted by ApplicantPro
