Ability to apply professional community organization skills related to the formulating of needs assessments, development, and marketing of prevention programs; and apply professional diagnostic skills to individuals, families, and small groups; provide guidance and consultation services to medical professionals and military leaders, work well with others in a team approach, and facilitate referrals to community-, county-, or state based human service agencies as needed (e.g., Emergency Department, Protective Services, Security Forces, and financial aid organizations); and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to include maintaining proper records to document services provided, including patient care, follow up, and/or referral. Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to evaluate psychiatric disorders and apply professional diagnostic skills; in addition, knowledge of complex support systems, such as child and family prevention outreach services, professional organizations, and their management and administration; how they affect adult, child, and family welfare; the multiple uses of such systems, professionals and organizations to deliver services; and psychological health dynamics/indicators, prevention theories, and practices.
