Incumbent performs transportation planning duties associated with investigation and analyzing street traffic conditions to determine the need for traffic control measures (including traffic engineering studies, warrant analysis, sign maintenance requests, traffic impact studies, traffic calming, parking signs, studies and regulations, residential permit parking, work zone safety, maintenance of traffic plan reviews, traffic control plans (TCP) approval inspection, and special event traffic control); reviews street improvement plans to determine the need for traffic control devices; prepares plans, specifications and estimates for installation of traffic signal systems and channelization; and prepares planning, design, and research studies to look at existing and proposed traffic control measures and methodologies. The incumbent should be able to review a wide range of traffic studies, including but not limited to traffic impact analyses, signal warrant studies, bus corridor studies, bicycle corridor studies, safety studies, travel demand modeling, and transportation management plans (TMP).
