The employee of this class performs tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of light and heavy-duty trucks, transit buses, tractors, graders, fire trucks, pumps, gas compressors, heat exchangers, sanitation hydraulic packer trucks, and other related equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately; to read and understand maintenance manuals for all motors and equipment being maintained or repaired; and to read and interpret mechanical drawings, automotive diagrams, and wiring schematics on highly complicated electrical and charging systems.
