Additionally, Unit Aides in ARU, may be responsible for the following: making follow up appointments upon patient discharge, ordering Durable Medical Equipment and helping with data entry, provider charges, supply ordering and insurance follow up via phone/fax. Under the direction of the registered nurse, this individual provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other patient care team members including the patient and family, to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
