To be considered you should: Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect ~ Have a desire to work with troubled teens ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of previous experience employed as a full-time staff at an adolescent group home, short-term residential therapeutic program, or substance abuse treatment program ~ Have a bachelor’s degree or Valid Child Development Teaching Permit or 12 Semester Units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Psychology ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry. What you will do: As a Youth Care Worker , you will provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for the youth in our program and provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the students ~ You will monitor and document student behaviors and activities, participate and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities, and work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan.
