Best Companies to Work for in the World
Fortune magazine’s annual World’s Best Multinational Workplaces list cuts right to the chase.
Everyone wants to work for a winner. Fortune magazine’s annual World’s Best Multinational Workplaces list cuts right to the chase. The annual roundup surveyed nearly 20 million employees that work at global organizations affiliated with Great Place to Work to come up with a list of the 25 best companies to work for in the world.
What makes a company the best of the best? While the famed Fortune 500 list ranks the highest-grossing companies in the United States, the World’s Best focuses more on people rather than profits. Employees were asked to complete a survey to see which companies scored highest and also had the most impressive cultures of inclusivity around the world. In addition, a company must be named to five or more national Best Workplaces lists, have 5,000 employees or more worldwide, and at least 40% of the company's workforce (or 5,000 employees) must be based outside of the home country.
The top 25 best companies to work for employ around 2.1 million people in 92 countries in the following industries:
- information technology
- transportation
- hospitality
- manufacturing and production
- professional services
- financial services and insurance
- biotechnology and pharmaceuticals
