Report to the Accounting Consulting & Transformation Manager, the Accounting & Tax Development Program (ATDP) Sr. Analyst will take on an assignment within the Accounting & Tax organization to gain broad exposure and knowledge in a key functional area. The assignment will be primarily based on business needs, which may allow for an opportunity for multiple assignments. The program is intended to develop a pipeline of talent through continuous learning and development and to grow, retain, and prepare that talent for future opportunities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Participating in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities
Participating in quarterly and annual iFEM, SEC, governmental or statutory reporting processes
Supervising and supporting team members on an as needed basis
Assisting with departmental projects and ad hoc requests
Identifying potential opportunities for improvement in the accounting, tax, and finance areas
Gaining a thorough understanding of the business
Gaining an in-depth understanding of Accounting policies, systems and processes
Skill Set:
Business degree in Accounting/Finance
CPA
3+ years work experience, preferably 2 to 3 years with a public accounting firm (or other professional service firm)
Specific experience in the areas of Accounting Policy, Financial Reporting and Process Improvement a plus
Willingness to learn new products and processes and work on multiple types of project concurrently
A high degree of organization skills with the ability to work in a deadline driven environment
Ability to work with customers to conceptualize needs and to develop and implement solutions
Ability to analyze processes and recommend improvements in a continuously changing environment required
Excellent communication skills
Ability to research accounting standards and help identify their impact on accounting processes and policies
Self-starter who works independently to move tasks forward while continuously obtaining group consensus
