Job Summary: Reporting to the controller of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP), the accountant of HMFP assists with daily and monthly financial operational responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly basis, including accrual and cash for month end close.

- Uploads standard monthly entries into general ledger system, which includes preparation and submission of supporting documentation and work papers.

- Responsible for the accuracy of journal entries, enabling the production of accurate departmental and physician level profit and loss statements. Understands the financial impact and appreciates the important of physician profit and loss accuracy.

- Assists in the maintenance of HMFP and APHMFP's chart of accounts by setting up new account codes and account strings in general ledger system

- Responsible for setting up new accounts payable vendors according to the HMFP policies and procedures. Responds to departmental inquiries regarding financial transactions and accuracy of financial statements.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
1-3 yeas of related work experience
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Access and other web based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Must be separated from BILH for 6+ months and be in good standing.
