This position applies the accounting policies and practices as developed by financial management of Phoenix Children's and performs day-to-day accounting procedures with substantial independence and autonomy, generally supervised by an AccountantIII or Manager.Position DutiesConduct procedures and maintain accounting systems needed to maintain proper records, affording strong accounting controls and services.Directly participate in the monthly closing process and have assigned responsibilities for researching and preparing appropriate journal entries to effect the closing.Identify and maintain strict checks and balances to ensure all accounts are in balance and properly accounted for as part of the monthly close process.Participate as assigned in preparation of monthly reporting packages to senior management and quarterly and annual reporting packages to external audiences such as bondholders.Have assigned areas of accounts that receive monthly and/or other periodic reconciliations, provided to the AccountantIII or Manager for review in accordance with departmental practice.Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested.Position QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 20 hours of accounting courses (Required).Master's Degree in Finance or Accounting (Preferred).Two years of professional level experience in accounting or finance functions post‑degree (Required).Moderate to strong Excel skills (Required).Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant (Preferred).Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk PotentialHearing – Constantly.Sitting – Constantly.Standing – Occasionally.Talking – Frequently.Walking – Occasionally.Near Vision – Constantly.Color Discrimination – Frequently.Use of keyboard, mouse and/or computer equipment – Constantly.Lift up to 35 pounds without assistance – Occasionally.Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential – Inside office environment – Applicable.#J-18808-Ljbffr
