A highly skilled and experienced professional performing various finance, accounting, and budget functions and processes; reviews, updates and prepares a variety of financial, budget and accounting transactions; maintains fixed asset data and performs related duties as assigned. Under general supervision, incumbent must exercise reasonable initiatives and independent judgement in ensuring that timely, efficient, and effective services are provided to departments, selecting work methods, and performing assigned tasks. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.Reviews and analyzes investment and bank accounts and prepares reconciliations of various funds and accounts.Analyzes financial data, monthly financial and actuarial reports.Monitors and maintains spreadsheets related to funding sources budgeted and transferred.Maintains capital project spreadsheets, analyzing projects to determine amounts to be capitalized and expensed, and ultimately determining completion of projects to determine their removal from Construction in Progress.Maintains annexations for the State of Florida Community Service Tax.Assists in the preparation of and completes a variety of accounting, financial, budgetary or statistical reports or projects, including special projects.Prepares and maintains records associated with various cash management and grant management activities.Prepares schedules and reports for the external auditors.Assists in maintaining and monitoring accounting and budgetary records in accordance with the Uniform Accounting System of the Florida Department of Financial Services Bureau of Local Government.Maintains fixed asset system and reconciles to general ledger; distributes inventory list.Records pension entries to general ledger and reconciles to financial statements.Prepares and reviews general correspondence.Performs other duties as assigned.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty or responsibility satisfactorily.
