POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Description

 

This position will support the accounting and reporting activities for the Company's non-operated well portfolio and assist with certain reporting responsibilities within the operated portfolio. The role contributes to the timely and accurate preparation of accounting records and financial reporting that support management, investors, lenders, and regulatory requirements.

 

To be successful in this role, the Accounting Associate should be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously improve accounting processes and reporting capabilities.

 

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounting entries and supporting schedules for cash receipts, revenue, operating expenses, and capital expenditures within the non-operated portfolio.
  • Assist with maintaining accounting records at the summary, operator, and well level.
  • Support the preparation and enhancement of reporting related to the non-operated portfolio.
  • Prepare designated accounting schedules and roll-forwards utilized during the monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Assist with annual audit requests and support SOX compliance activities within assigned areas.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances as part of the monthly financial close process.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports.
  • Support the development and maintenance of revenue forecasting and analytical models.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide supporting explanations for fluctuations in revenue and operating results.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statement disclosures and other reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with accounting team members to identify process improvements and reporting efficiencies.

 

Qualifications:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Familiarity with Hyperion.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented with keen analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry preferred
