Accounting Intern - Summer 2027

Summary

The Jewelers Mutual Accounting Internship is designed to provide interns challenging and rewarding experiences related to accounting responsibilities and processes. The program is ideal for students with an Accounting major, looking for functional development who have a proven track record of excellent academic performance and a high level of ethics.

What You'll Do

• Validate data transfer by assisting in the accurate migration of data from the legacy system to the new agency software.
• Record transactions in the legacy system to verify payment accuracy and assist in closing old balances.
• Assist in preparing general journal entries for various business transactions under the guidance of accounting staff.
• Support reconciliation of payables with our binding authority to ensure accurate bordereaux payments.
• Prepare and review expense reclassification entries in the agency software.
• Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations by identifying, researching, and assisting in resolving discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Process and reconcile claims and survey payables in accordance with financial regulations, insurance syndicate policies, and company guidelines.
• Document accounting process and general journal entry procedures ensuring consistent publishing and referencing of documentation/file save location.

What you'll Bring

Minimum Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field 
• Must be able to work full-time in Miami, FL during the summer of 2027 
• Must have strong attention to detail

• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
