Accounting Manager


Salary: $100,000 – $120,000
Location: 3 days onsite in Newark, NJ

Key Responsibilities for the Accounting Manager:


• Manage daily accounting operations, including oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, and account analysis
• Oversee accounting and revenue recognition for grants, contributions, pledges, and deferred revenue
• Support cash management, forecasting, and liquidity planning activities
• Drive accounting process improvements, automation efforts, and reporting enhancements
• Partner with IT and external vendors on NetSuite optimization and system integrations

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant nonprofit accounting experience
• Strong expertise with NetSuite, ideally within a nonprofit environment
• Experience with accounting system integrations and process automation initiatives
• Prior leadership or supervision of AP/AR functions preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
