Accounting Manager

LaunchCode is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to own Accounts Payable and serve as a core contributor to payroll processing and monthly close. The role owns the AP cycle end to end through Bill.com and QuickBooks, runs payroll on a hard biweekly cutoff, and maintains restricted-funding tracking so grant and donor dollars stay within their intended restrictions. Accuracy, timeliness, and clean documentation are the defining expectations, since this work feeds directly into month-end close, audit, and funder reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working inside deadline-driven cycles, and confident owning a process end-to-end without close supervision.

Specifics

• Full-Time Salaried Position

• Reports to the Director of Finance

• Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000

• Fully Remote - ideal candidate is located in the Greater St. Louis, MO area

• Primary focus: Accounts Payable and Payroll Processing

Role Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Own the full AP cycle in Bill.com and QuickBooks - vendor invoices, contractor/SOW payments, corporate card (Navan) approvals, vendor onboarding, and AP aging review.

• Payroll Processing: Run biweekly, salary, and off-cycle payroll in UKG, including payroll splits and allocations, timesheet approvals, and UKG cost center maintenance.

• Payroll Compliance & Corrections: Administer 401(k) force-outs, quarter-end payroll close, W-2 corrections, garnishments, and bonus/stipend payouts.

• Accounting & Month-End Close: Support monthly close across multiple legal entities - bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and expense review.

• Vendor & Contract Support: Support vendor renewals, multi-installment contract tracking, and SOW/MSA review as it relates to invoicing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct ownership of both accounts payable and payroll

• Demonstrated experience with high-volume AP processing and full-cycle, multi-state payroll

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (or equivalent), Bill.com (or equivalent), and UKG (or an equivalent payroll platform)

• Strong attention to detail and comfort operating inside hard AP and payroll deadlines

Nice to Haves

• Prior experience in a nonprofit organization, including grant accounting

• Experience with staffing/placement or contractor-heavy payables and payroll

• Familiarity with 401(k) administration and garnishment processing
