Founded in 2014 by second-generation builders, we bring grit, innovation, and proven expertise to every project we take on. With operations across Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, our mobile crews and powerful fleet allow us to go where the work is-and deliver safely, efficiently, and without compromise. At HBC, safety isn't a priority-it's our culture, driving everything we do from the ground up.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you'll lead and oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring vendor invoices and payments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies. You will play a key role in supporting financial operations, maintaining vendor relationships, and driving process improvements that contribute to the success of our organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and wants to grow their leadership impact while helping support critical construction operations.

What You'll Do

    • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure accurate payment processing and financial reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control requirements.
    • Prepare, review, and analyze AP reports, including aging reports, cash flow forecasts, accruals, and other management reports.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance overall AP operations.
    • Support month-end and year-end close activities, audits, and financial reconciliations.
    • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    • Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
    • Proactive mindset with a sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
    • A team-oriented approach aligned with Harper Brothers Construction's values and culture.
