A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Defense Practice Group in Austin, TX. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of civil litigation matters in a collaborative and mentorship-driven environment, and also on a HYBRID schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking hands-on litigation experience, direct mentorship, and long-term career growth within a respected national litigation practice. The firm routinely counsels and defends clients, including Fortune 500 companies, corporations, and individuals in complex litigation matters including, but not limited to: asbestos, class action, construction, employment, environmental, food and beverage, insurance coverage and bad faith, life sciences, product liability, professional liability, technology and cyber risk, transportation, and warranty.

Position: Associate Attorney – General Liability Defense 
Location: Austin, TX
Schedule: Hybrid
Compensation: Base salary up to $200K plus bonus opportunities

Responsibilities
  • Manage an assigned caseload with partner oversight and mentorship
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy development
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
  • Assist with trial preparation and litigation proceedings
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors
  • Manage discovery deadlines and case documentation

 Qualifications
  • Active Texas Bar license required
  • 2+ years of civil litigation experience on the defense side
  • Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
  • Professional, proactive, and team-oriented approach
