DESCRIPTION:


A high-volume, chef-driven Tex-Mex restaurant in Atlanta is seeking a Sous Chef to help lead culinary operations in one of the city's most energetic, guest-forward kitchens. The concept pairs craveable scratch cooking and bold flavors with the operational discipline of a fine-dining kitchen, delivering consistency, speed, and quality at scale. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will manage and lead culinary operations on a shift basis, owning execution on the line, developing the team, and protecting standards across every service.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leads culinary operations on a shift basis alongside the Executive Chef, owning line execution, prep, and line checks during service.
  • Manages ordering, receiving, inventory, and waste in partnership with senior culinary leadership.
  • Upholds food safety, sanitation, and quality standards at all times.
  • Develops, trains, and mentors hourly culinary team members, building bench strength and a culture of accountability.
  • Drives consistency, speed, and quality of execution in a high-volume scratch-kitchen environment.
  • Partners with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless service flow and an exceptional guest experience.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable health, safety, and labor regulations.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
  • Minimum 2+ years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Track record of high-quality food execution in a scratch kitchen; high-volume experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of food production techniques, food safety, food-borne illness handling, and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Calm, composed presence on the line under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking) and basic mathematical computation; fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Culinary Arts degree a plus; Tex-Mex or Mexican experience a plus, not required.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
