SUMMARY
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services for our organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of procurement processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are typical for this role. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
* Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications
* Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and supplier performance
* Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable terms for the organization
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulations related to procurement
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support category management initiatives
* Utilize root cause analysis techniques to identify areas for improvement in the procurement process

Experience and Education
Minimum
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
* Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
* Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and procedures
* Proficient in using procurement systems and software
Preferred
* Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) is preferred
