The College of Arts and Sciences is looking for a Student Assistant to support the Senior Administrative Assistant and the Dean's Office. We are seeking a motivated individual who is a strong written and verbal communicator, can self-start, follow through on assigned tasks, and has a high degree of comfort interacting with others. The Office Assistant is expected to identify, initiate, and complete a variety of tasks and projects in a role that primarily serves CAS Sr. Admin Asst. and the Dean's Office.

Shifts for this position are a minimum of 3 hours long, Monday-Friday, and while there is a degree of flexibility, Friday availability is required.

Core Duties

  • Assist Sr. Admin Asst. and Dean's Office with a variety of clerical tasks.
  • Marketing: Experience with Canva required. Assistant will create and edit QR codes, promotional materials for events, flyers, images, etc..
  • Update and maintain CAS websites
  • Event coordination
  • Assist with general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of College spaces.
  • Computer skills (Familiarity with: Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Google, Excel).
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks.
  • Some events management experience.
  • Willingness to learn to use new technology and platforms
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High-level organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks.
  • Collaborative approach to work.
  • Proactive communicator.
  • Basic computer skills (Some familiarity with: Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Google, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with UP technology and systems
  • Prior clerical work.
  • Canva experience
