The College of Arts and Sciences is looking for a Student Assistant to support the Senior Administrative Assistant and the Dean's Office. We are seeking a motivated individual who is a strong written and verbal communicator, can self-start, follow through on assigned tasks, and has a high degree of comfort interacting with others. The Office Assistant is expected to identify, initiate, and complete a variety of tasks and projects in a role that primarily serves CAS Sr. Admin Asst. and the Dean's Office.
Shifts for this position are a minimum of 3 hours long, Monday-Friday, and while there is a degree of flexibility, Friday availability is required.
Core Duties
- Assist Sr. Admin Asst. and Dean's Office with a variety of clerical tasks.
- Marketing: Experience with Canva required. Assistant will create and edit QR codes, promotional materials for events, flyers, images, etc..
- Update and maintain CAS websites
- Event coordination
- Assist with general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of College spaces.
- Computer skills (Familiarity with: Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Google, Excel).
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Self-motivated, flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks.
- Some events management experience.
- Willingness to learn to use new technology and platforms
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- High-level organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks.
- Collaborative approach to work.
- Proactive communicator.
- Basic computer skills (Some familiarity with: Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Google, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with UP technology and systems
- Prior clerical work.
- Canva experience
