Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's financial reporting while driving operational and financial excellence. The Controller will manage the accounting team, oversee month-end and year-end close processes, prepare financial statements and management reports, monitor inventory and overhead costs, lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.

To thrive/succeed as the Controller you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant license - Preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within biotech, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other FDA-regulated industries.
  • Strong expertise in cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and work order accounting.
  • Experience with inventory control, scrap management, and manufacturing financial operations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing tax regulations and compliance (FDA and ISO).
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, R&D, QA, Supply Chain, and Sales.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (IQMS, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to excel in fast-paced manufacturing environments while managing multiple priorities.

Your responsibilities as the Controller will include:

  • Develop and enhance financial processes, internal controls, policies, and procedures to support the company's continued growth and success
  • Lead manufacturing finance and cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and work order accounting.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, scrap management, and disposition to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.
  • Manage month-end close, financial reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and Operations to support strategic planning and drive cost improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FDA/ISO requirements, and internal controls while leading process improvements, ERP optimization, and audit support.
