Cook (Full-Time)

Eden Vista Apple Valley, part of Vista Senior Living Management, is seeking a dependable and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. If you enjoy preparing nutritious, delicious meals while making a positive impact in the lives of seniors, we'd love to meet you.

Position: Cook

Schedule:40 hours per week, 5 days per week

Rotating shifts:

• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• Schedule consists of set days (specific shift rotation to be determined).

The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and kitchen standards. This role works closely with the dining services team to provide an exceptional dining experience that supports resident health and satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and recipes.
• Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and completing other food preparation tasks.
• Cook food using a variety of methods, including baking, grilling, roasting, and boiling.
• Ensure meals are presented attractively and served at the proper temperature.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Properly store food, supplies, and ingredients.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs.
• Work collaboratively with the dining services team to provide excellent service to residents.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing meals in large quantities.
• Experience working in an Assisted Living, Memory Care, or healthcare setting.
• ServSafe Food Handler or ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures.
